Andreas Klingen
A native of Berlin, holds a degree in Physics from the Technische Universität, Berlin, as well as an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management. Began his career as an Investment Bank Analyst at Lazard in 1993, working in Frankfurt, Paris and London covering Financial Institutions and General Industries. Joined JPMorgan in London as a Senior Associate in 1998. During his 7 year tenure in JP‘s Investment Banking, Financial Institutions Group, was promoted to Senior Vice President. Since 2005, has been the Head of Erste‘s Strategic Group Development Division.
Johanna Mair
Is a Professor of Strategic Management at IESE Business School and the Hewlett Foundation Scholar at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society. She currently serves as the Academic Editor of the Stanford Social Innovation Review. Johanna has held a visiting position at the Harvard Business School and has received numerous awards for her research and publications. In 2007 she was recognized as a “Faculty Pioneer” by the Aspen Institute and received the Ashoka Award for Social Entrepreneurship Education. Before earning her Ph.D. in management from INSEAD (France), Johanna was directly involved in many aspects of the executive decision-making process in international banking. Today, alongside her academic responsibilities, she chairs the Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum on Social Innovation, carries out consultancy work for several multinational companies and international institutions such as the World Bank, and serves on the advisory board of globally operating enterprises, foundations and social venture funds.
Boris Marte
Before joining Erste Group as Head of Corporate Sponsoring and, consequently, building up ERSTE Foundation, Boris held various positions in the fields of politics and cultural politics. Among others, he worked with Erhard Busek, Austrian Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister for Science and Research, and Peter Marboe, Cultural Commissioner of the City of Vienna. Furthermore, Boris headed a team to establish Rachel Whiteread’s Holocaust monument in Vienna and worked as Advisor for the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the educational and architectural Reform of Mauthausen. Boris has a university degree in law from the Vienna Law School. During the time of his studies he spent some years in different jobs in the Viennese off-theatre scene. Boris has written and published several books. Reminiscing the good amount of his childhood years that he spent in Moscow in the ’70s, Boris likes to host ‘Russian themed parties’ every once in a while.
Franz Karl Prueller
Born and raised in Vienna. Studied forestry at the University for Agriculture and Forestry in Vienna and holds a BA in International Studies from Webster University, St. Louis/USA as well as a Master of Science in Development Management from the Open University in England. Joined ERSTE Foundation after 17 years of service to Caritas Austria (1988-2005), the last of which (1996 – 2005) were spent as Secretary General in charge of the international programmes and project department. Served on the Executive Boards of Caritas Internationalis and Europa and as Chairman of the Board of the charitable foundation “Neighbour in Need” for three years. Before 1996, in charge of the Central and Eastern European programme and the disaster relief programme of Caritas. During his time with the CEE programme from 1989 to 1993, helped to re-establish Caritas organisations from the Czech Republic to Romania and Bulgaria. As emergency aid coordinator of Caritas Austria he was active, among others, in Armenia, Kenya, Kurdistan/Iran, Romania, Rwanda, Somalia and Sudan, and helped to organise emergency responses through the world-wide Caritas network in a number of other African, Asian and Latin-American countries. From 1986-1988, worked for the International Catholic Rural Association in Rome and between 1984 and 1986 as a volunteer with the United Nations in Vienna. Since September 2005 has been with ERSTE Foundation as Programme Director for the Social Development Programme. Currently serving on the Supervisory Boards of Die Zweite Sparkasse, good.bee Holding and good.bee Credit IFN in Romania. He represents ERSTE Foundation in the Steering Committees of the European Fund for the Balkans and the Grant-makers East Forum.

Martin Škopek
Born in 1967, Martin Škopek is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague. Prior to joining Erste Group in 1999, he worked at Komerční banka. From 1999 to 2006, he was the Retail Executive Vice-president at Česká spořitelna. In 2010, he was appointed Executive Vice President for Retail and Private Banking at Banca Comerciala Romana. He became Member of the Management Board at Erste Group Bank AG in July 2010 where he was responsible for Group Retail Business Development, Wealth Creation and Group Card Management. February 2012 he joined again BCR Management Board for Retail Banking while he continues to steer Group-wide retail activities and will also remain Chairman of the Retail Board.
Andreas Treichl
Born in 1952. Started his career with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York in 1977. Joined Erste Bank in 1994 where he was appointed to the Management Board. Took the bank public in 1997 and now serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Erste Group Bank AG. He is Chief Executive Officer of ERSTE Foundation and Chairman of the supervisory board of Banca Comerciala Romana. He is married to Desiree Treichl-Stürgkh and has three sons.
